The gun have to be cleaned after shooting. The intensity of the cleaning is dependent on when the weapon is used next time, when the weapon was cleaned last time and how many cartridges were fired under which weather conditions.
The opinions concerning weapon's maintenance are very different. On one hand the armies all over the world teach an intensive maintenance, on the other hand experts suppose this as excessive. Some argue, frequent cleaning with copper brushes is bad for the metal. The procedure described on the next pages grounds on personal experiences, it is a recommendation.
